Sports Psychologist
Racing NSW has engaged Grant Brecht and Oliver Brecht, Sports Psychologists, to provide free confidential counselling services to jockeys and their families in need of assistance.
They have experience in providing specialised psychological, health and well-being consultancy services to sporting organisations and professional athletes. The Brecht’s are currently Club Psychologist for the Sydney Swans AFL team and Sydney Roosters NRL team.
The Jockeys Assistance Program will provide jockeys and their family members with 24 x 7 telephone access to the Brecht’s services.
Counselling facilities are available in Sydney and throughout NSW via the Brecht’s network of regional associates.
Jockeys past and present, and their direct family can contact Oliver or Grant confidentially at any time at Veretis Performance Psychology. Names are not provided to Racing NSW or anyone else.
